Tower of David | wood, posters, photos, acrylics | 20.5 X 31 cm | 2012
The Tower of David was an essential part of the defence mechanism of Jerusalem. In the Christian context, the Tower of David symbolises those individuals or groups that form up God's “defence mechanism” by which the Kingdom of God will stand undefeated and sin will always be conquered. The icon comments on the degeneration of this structure, juxtaposing it with the destruction of the symbol of pop-consumerist society and culture.
