These plastic images of the Virgin of Lourdes are said to contain holy water that has healing properties and is a symbol of protection against evil. Acrylic colours are mixed with the water in order to transform  meanings and symbolisms. The audience is confronted by these new uncanny objects which are so familiar yet so foreign and strange at the same time. Is their supernatural connotation lost?
